For service business owners · cleaning, trades, lawn care, HVAC & more

Quit it.Hand it off.Or keep it.

Build a service business that makes you money, not one that owns your life.

You didn't start a business to answer texts at 9 p.m. and redo estimates on Sunday. The Quitter Method shows you what to quit, what to hand off, and what only you should keep.

The Quitter Method

Nobody's telling you to quit your business.

Just the stuff that's eating it. Every task in your week goes in one of three piles.

Quit it

Stuff nobody should be doing.

  • Software you pay for and never open
  • Redoing work because nobody wrote down how
  • Chasing the same invoice for the fourth time
  • "Quick calls" that eat your whole afternoon
Hand it off

Stuff someone else can do. Probably better.

  • Scheduling and dispatch
  • Estimates and follow-ups
  • Invoicing and getting paid
  • Answering the same five questions every day
Keep it

Stuff only you should do.

  • The big decisions and the numbers that matter
  • Your best customers and key relationships
  • Growing the business
  • Your evenings, weekends and your kids' games

The four paths

Start. Fix. Grow. Exit.

Every service business is in one of four places. Find yours below. Same method, different playbook.

  1. StartStarting out
  2. FixRunning, and it's running you
  3. GrowRunning well, ready for more
  4. ExitReady for your next chapter

Most owners live in Fix and Grow. We're not here to talk anyone into selling. But when selling is the right next step for your stage of life, Exit is there.

Start

Quit dreaming. Start building.

6 months

We help you set up a service business the right way, before bad habits set in.

You're here if

  • You're about to start, or you started in the last year
  • You're great at the work, less sure about the business side
  • You want a business, not a 70-hour-a-week job

Where you end up

A business that's set up right, has paying customers, and doesn't need you for everything.

Fix

Quit the chaos.

6 months

We find what's eating your time and money, fix the biggest problems first, and get you out of the weeds.

You're here if

  • You can't take a week off without your phone blowing up
  • Every question from the crew comes back to you
  • You're busy, but not sure you're actually making money

Where you end up

Systems that run the day, a crew that knows the standard, and your evenings back.

Grow

Quit playing small.

12 months

We build the sales, marketing, team and money your business needs to grow past you.

You're here if

  • The business runs, but revenue has gone flat
  • You're the best salesperson, and the only one
  • You want more trucks or crews without more of your hours

Where you end up

A growth plan, a sales system that doesn't need you, and leaders who can run crews.

Exit

Quit leaving money on the table.

12+ months

When it's time to sell, whether that's retirement or a new chapter, we help you get the most out of what you built.

You're here if

  • Selling is on your radar for the next 1–3 years
  • The business still depends on you
  • You want the best price and a clean hand-off

Where you end up

A business a buyer can run without you, with clean numbers to prove it.

Justin Spencer, founder of Mr. Quitter

Why Mr. Quitter

They called him a quitter. He put it on his license plate.

Justin Spencer has been in business since he was five. Newspaper route, car detailing, investment banking, solar, real estate deals. After his divorce he put QUITTER on his plates, and people said he quit everything.

Then one weekend his third son called him "Justin" instead of "Dad." That's when he figured out he'd been quitting the wrong things.
